www.roostersailing.com – Mainly dinghy specific gear as opposed to yachting and other sports. Good quality tried and tested stuff at competitive prices. Video guides help you to understand and choose from the various options. Register and sign in each time before buying to build-up loyalty cash towards future purchases! Often next day delivery.
www.purplemarine.com – Massive choice. Particularly good for wetsuits.
www.1stmark.co.uk – A “local” chandlery where you can try stuff on rather than buy on-line. Located at Golbourne, 5 minutes from junction 24 of the M6 motorway.
Preston Marina – Down on the docks. A small “local” chandlery where you can try stuff on rather than buy on-line. Not as well stocked as 1st Mark for sailing clothing and boat bits but useful if you are in the area and need something same day.
Aldi or Lidl – Sometimes have wetsuits and other sailing gear on offer if you are on a tight budget. Cheap and cheerful stuff, best suited to warm summer days.
www.decathlon.co.uk – Shops in Bolton and Stockport. Also relatively cheap clothing. As the name implies though their stock covers many sports so choice is likely to be limited. The Stockport outlet is much better stocked than the Bolton one for sailing gear!
Others – Obviously many more places to choose from, but the above will give you a good starting point. Best advice will come from Rooster, Purple Marine and 1st Mark.
