We are the most thriving, friendly, inclusive club sailing club in Bolton
Members of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Membership costs less than you’d think.
There are several payment options and no joining fee.
Once you have paid your membership fees you can sail your boat almost any day of the year with no additional charge.
We have a fleet of “Sailability” boats for disabled individuals and good wheelchair access.
We have something for everyone – from complete beginners to experienced racers.
We have a great team of instructors, and some of the best racers in the country to learn from.
We are well-placed for local towns such as Blackburn, Darwen, Preston, Chorley, Bolton, Manchester and the motorway network.
It’s a large reservoir, with the added interest of an island, and the tide is always in!
The scenery is fantastic.
At 856 ft above sea level with few trees there is more wind here than anywhere else, which is exactly what sailors want!
We have safety boats on the water during racing on Sundays, Wednesday nights and also on Friday “practice” nights.
Members can sail their own boats at any time.
In addition to social sailing, we also run organised racing from the last weekend of March through to the first weekend of December.
The racing we have on offer is suitable for sailors of any experience. There is high standard of competition at all levels. Bolton Sailing Club has been the home club of several national champions!
We have a superb clubhouse, facilities and training boats.
The well-stocked bar and comfortable lounge overlook the water and there’s a good social scene too!
